Dale of Norway

Dale of Norway Yarns was founded in 1879 by Peter Jebsen, in the small village of Dale, which is about 40 minutes from Bergen, Norway. They produce fine wool and cotton yarns in a variety of colors and utilize a variety of processes in the development of their yarns to ensure a high quality product. For example, their scouring lines, which remove dirt and small fibers from the wool, are one of only two left in Norway and a handful in the world.

In 1956, Dale of Norway began what is now a long-standing tradition of producing the official licensed sweaters of the Norwegian Olympic Ski Team and the Olympic Games, the most recent  being the official sweater of the 2010  Olymic Games in Vancouver. Dale of Norway Yarns also collaborates with famous designers like Tine Solheim and Arne and Carlos.

PinchKnitter Yarns is the only premiere dealer of Dale of Norway Yarns in the greater Standwood area. Don’t hesitate to ask us about Dale of Norway Yarns, their processes or factory…. we know first hand because we’ve been there! In 2008, PinchKnitter Yarns had the pleasure of visiting the village and taking a guided tour of the factory in beautiful Norway.
